Exotic Seafood
Abstract:
All over the world, there are types of seafood that you would not usually hear about in the U.S., most of which are delicacies in Asian countries. Some examples of foods are the Hagfish, the Sea cucumber, the Red Frog Crab and the Gong-Gong. Many of these foods may appear to not be very appetizing but are said to be pretty tasty when prepared properly.

Hagfish:
Hagfish are also known as slime eels and do not look very appetizing. However, they are prized as edible delicacies among Koreans. To prepare them, they are sliced down the middle to remove the digestive tract, then marinated. Traditionally, the raw fish are then placed on a heated plate at the center of the table, where they are cooked and served, using scissors to slice the hagfish up.

Sea Cucumber:
Sea cucumbers are marine animals that look like a large cucumber. They can be eaten raw, pickled, or fried. However, they have a slippery texture and a bland taste so they are usually used as an ingredient in meals or infused with other flavors and not eaten alone. An example of a meal using sea cucumbers is braised sea cucumbers with chinese vegetables.
Sea Cucumber:

Red Frog Crab:
The Red frog crab is a meal eaten in the Philippines, Japan and Southeast Asia. They have elongated shells, which are very broad in the front. The first legs are spanner shaped and the rest are flattened and have numerous short bristles. Their meat is coarse in texture than other species and known for its sweet flavour. When this crab is cooked whole, its bright orange shell is very attractive served on a buffet or platter. For Asian-style cooking, red frog crabs make excellent clear consommes or Thai-style broths, and are a good choice as an ingredient for wontons and dumplings.

The Red Frog Crab is a crustacean which is in the Arthropoda phylum. Arthropods have an exoskeleton, a segmented body, jointed legs, compound eyes, a coelom, an open circulatory system and a ventral nerve cord.
Gong-Gong:
The Gong-Gong is a type of sea snail most popularly eaten in Southeast Asia. It is typically fried or steamed and dipped in chili sauce. After its cooked, the meat is removed from the shell using a toothpick or by pulling it out by the tail.
Gong-Gong:

The gong-gong is a snail, meaning that it is a part of the Mollusca phylum.This means that it has a soft body inside a calcium carbonate shell, a mantle,a foot, and a radula.
Conclusion:
There are many types of seafood that I had no idea people actually ate all over the world. Some of which I would probably try but a lot of which I would not. Out of the 4 listed above, I would probably only try the Red Frog Crab because I like crab.

Conclusion:
